TERESA AND ROBERTA LEE FITNESS-NATURE PATH

Across Worthen Road from the track, the Recreation Department, through donations, has constructed a fitness and nature path. The path is 1.35 plus miles and wanders through delightful natural areas as well as around playing fields. There are sixteen (16) self directed exercise stations for fitness enthusiasts of all levels to enjoy.

Bicycling

Maps of the Lexington Bike Paths are available at the Recreation Department Office and the Chamber of Commerce. For more information call the Lexington Bicycle Advisory Committee -Town Manager's Office at 781-862-0500 ext. 276.

SING ALONG CHORUS             Bridge School

7:00—8:30 p.m. Mondays

This integrated special needs program for teens and young adults is offered in partnership with the Special Needs Arts program, Inc. The chorus learns old and new sing along favorites which are performed at nursing home and community events. Socials with family and friends are held during the year. Wheelchair accessible. LEXINGTON COMMUNITY EDUCATION

The Town of Lexington is fortunate to have two municipal providers of adult education and enrichment—Lexington Recreation and Lexington Community Education. For more information about programs offered call (781) 862-8043.

NYSCA—National Youth Sports Coaches Association

NYSCA is a national organization, which provides training for the town’s legion of volunteer coaches in all sports areas. The Lexington Recreation Department serves as a recognized chapter of NYSCA and conducts clinics throughout the year to provide this very valuable training for over 100 of the town’s youth coaches. Look in the Recreation Brochures for clinic topics and dates.  The clinics cover topics such as the psychology of working with young athletes, the motivation of youngsters, and the care and prevention of injuries. Sport specific sessions include discussions on organizing practices and teaching fundamentals. The NYSCA program is designed to educate our coaches to make sports in Lexington a fun and positive experience for all participating youngsters.

Community Gardens

Registration for garden plots for new gardeners will begin in April. Please call the Conservation Office at (781) 862-0500 ext. 226 form more information.

Fishing
