CONSTRUCTION
2008/2009 Roadway Reconstruction Projects:
Construction activities may consist of any of the following activities: lowering and plating of manholes and catch basins, grinding and grading of the road surface, adjusting of manholes and catch basins, installation of asphalt berm, placement of final layer of asphalt, adjustment of driveway aprons, and restoration of disturbed lawn area. The work zone will extend several feet beyond the edge of the existing pavement but will stay within the town-owned-land (Typically the town’s property line is 8 feet outside the edge of pavement). If you have any underground utilities on town property not on file with the town such as but not limited to invisible fences, low voltage lighting or sprinkler systems, please clearly mark the locations of these items or remove them from town property to avoid damage to the these items or the town's construction equipment. The town will not be responsible for damage to these items. On-street parking will be prohibited during construction and, in general, streets will be closed to through traffic. You will be given as much access as the work allows and the DPW will do their best to minimize any inconvenience. You will receive a hand delivered notice at least one day prior to the start of construction. Please note that work schedules are often altered by unforeseen events, however we will do our best to keep you informed. Please be advised that subsequent to any paving operation all non-emergency excavation in the street is prohibited for five years. If you have any questions please call the Town’s Street Resurfacing Information line at 781-862-0500 x 703 or e-mail streetpavinginfo@ci.lexington.ma.us.
